Blow Drying

Blow Drying hair is a great way to achieve many different styles. You can get volume, shiny, straight, wavy, and even curly hair. There are so many different types of blow dyers out on the market so the selection is endless. Blow drying is not as damaging to the hair as curling, or flat irons. Now not saying that blow dryers do not get as hot as other styling tools but by achieving style with a blow dryer does benefit the hair as far as damage wise. Within  the hair is hydrogen bonds and these bonds are the bonds that allow you to style your hair. When hair gets wet this bonds are broken and when the hair is dried they reform to whatever shape which they are formed. Now water is not the only thing that breaks these bonds, heat breaks them as well. So when your drying your hair with the blow dryer the bonds are not fully reformed they are still broken do to the heat. The trick to getting your hair to style as wanted is after heating a section of hair to its dry state switch the blow dryer to a cool setting and re-due the same section with cool air. The cool air allows the bonds to reform completely and that is what sets the style. Now you can also use the back side of the blow dryer to cool the hair but be careful not to get to close to your hair cause some blow dryers will suck your hair into the fan and that would not be a fun situation. Not all blow dryers with suck up your hair its just a precaution to keep in mind if you use that method of cooling the hair to set the style. Try this the next time you style your hair and see the difference for yourself.
